Physics Project 2014 - Blog Post #4

Throughout this project I learned that you have to cooperate very well with your group members to make it to the end. Make sure you go in to every time possible that you can build so you can make your roller coaster better and better. I learned that Physics relates to everything in life. At first, I thought it would just be something like protons and neutrons that we would learn and forget. But putting the project in this way made it way more fun and interesting to us. If I could change this project, I would use some tubings that are smoother and I would make some more humps and loops. Overall, I think this project was funner than any other project I have ever done. When the project was over, I hoped it would have lasted longer because it is probably something that we are never going to do again in our lives.

Physics Project Reflection #2

This project has been really frustrating so far as to what we are trying to do. We are trying to make our first working loop and if there isn't enough energy on the marble to make it through the full loop, we just increase the height of the start for more acceleration. Another thing that is frustrating is just keeping our track steady if it is just hanging down. I feel like our progress hasn't gone really far for the past days because today we redid our whole project for us to be able to increase our height. But the way we are doing now is easier than what we were doing before. Sometimes we add too much tape on the back of the box and too little in the front so our project starts to lean backwards

Physics Project 2014 - Blog Post #3

I feel like my group is caught up so far because we are within the limits for the amounts of transitions and we are coming closer to an end to our project. Inertia has been affecting our building process because when we try to make a sharp turn, the marble just flies out of the corner wanting to move in the same direction. The loops have been really frustrating to us because some of the tubes have creases on them that stop the marble. Something we are doing good in our project is how we use most of the time we are given in class wisely to redo any parts of the roller coaster that aren't working the way we want them to.
